A Gordian knot is a complex knot tied by the Greek King Gordius of Asia Minor, who predicted the one to loosen it would rule Asia.  Instead of loosening the knot Alexander the Great cut the Gordian knot with his sword.  Hence the “cut the Gordian knot” is to solve quickly and decisively a complex problem or to get to the heart of the problem. ReaMedica’s Gordian knots are three-to-five day business modeling and innovation labs.

Our first Gordian Knot was held in February 2016.  The Pretoria (South Africa) knot welcomed  16 delegates over a four day workshop.  The Pretoria knot explored co-creation methodologies, design thinking and entrepreneurial frameworks. One outcome was the creation of a business service to assess facilities medical equipment (stocks & status) and retrieval and disposal services for medical equipment in Sub Saharan Africa. We are thankful to the Johnson & Johnson Corporate Citizenship Trust for their sponsorship.  We have used our knots on challenges to facilitate collaboration in Value-Based Health Care, remote equipment monitoring and support and evaluation studies.
